The Southwest Rotary Club Clay Shoot raises money for community initiatives around education, families and the betterment of our communities. We believe education assures an individual and their family quality of life and opportunities to live to one's true potential. SW Rotarians support Women & Children families can address basic needs. Teaming with other action oriented community servants, SW Rotarians focus resources of time, talent, treasure and testimony in service to our communities while improving the opportunities for health, safety and the well being of all.
Examples of our Education focused funding include lunches and teacher funding for the Road to Camp Supper Camp @ MSU. Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra (providing expert 1:1 tutoring at no charge), Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Fain Elementary's STEM program.
Our support for Women & Children addresses basic family unit needs. From the Boy Scouts to Food Banks & Pantries (Wichita & Clay Counties, MSU, Honduras, United Way's VITA Tax Help. Many other non profits are helped as well.
Projects that improved our Community have included:
- New Playground equipment at Rotary Park, adjacent to Cunningham Elementary and The Boys and Girls Club facility. - COVID Spring 2021, connecting county and cities with local Rotary clubs for COVID message and service actions.
- Led Wichita Falls Rotary clubs to updated ENJET member country flags at Rotary Plaza at MPEC in Wichita Falls.
- December 2020, presented funds for a new K-9 officer to Wichita Falls Police Dept after K9 officer retired in Sep 2020.
