Four Way Test Speech Contest
Mar. 07, 2025 6:00 p.m.

Local high school students are invited to participate in the Southwest Wichita Rotary Club's Annual Four-Way Test speech contest.

The Four-Way Test, used by Rotary International, consists of four questions Rotarians ask themselves to evaluate the ethics of their thoughts, words, and actions:

"Is it the truth?",

"Is it fair to all concerned?",

"Will it build goodwill and better friendships?",

"Will it be beneficial to all concerned?".

Participants are asked to deliver a speech in compliance with the following criteria:

The following conditions apply to all contestants:
  • Topic of speech: “What the Four-Way Test Means to Me”
  • Contestants must be in high school and can be any age.
  • Contestants who have participated at the District level in any previous year are not eligible.
  • Speeches are to be 5 minutes in length.
  • No written scripts or props are allowed; however, 3x5 cards may be used
  • Student will need to be available to go to the Reginal and District dates if they qualify.
